- Real Business, Real Estimates, Real Life: Surviving and Thriving as a Working Professional
Working in a medium in which artistic vision is too often overshadowed by technical glitz, Abelardo creates photographic images that "refresh how people see the world." He uses a concept embraced by Aristotle and refined during the Renaissance: the camera obscura. Based on the most basic common denominator of the imaging process, the focusing of light, the camera obscura takes on new life in Morell's hands, where his imaginative and creative use of the simple device simultaneously nods to the past and catapults us into the future. Featured in the May 2011 National Geographic, Abelardo Morell's work has been called "one of the most original and enthralling bodies of work in contemporary photography."
